Huatulco
After ocho dias on the road , our 1st night in Huatulco (wha-tool-co) was not auspicious. We lugged our huge amount of goods up 3 flights to find air con in one bedroom only. Once white walls, no artwork, no hot water, no beach view or access, low lumpy beds and a WC so small my legs hit the wall when seated. In short, the place was a dump. We made the bed with a sleeping bag and then our own sheets. Scrubbed the kitchen and bath, put up our own shower curtain, showered, and curled up in the only air conditioned room.
When I woke up this morning, Tommy told me he couldn't stay in one crappy room for a month. We were out the door by 8:30 and by 10:00 we found a number of places much better. We are now happily ensconced in the Hotel Canadian Resort & Spa. OK the Resort & Spa is wishful thinking on their part, but we call it home.
A clean and bright room with a fridge. Very nice bath with jetted tub. View of a beautiful courtyard and a small piece of the port. There is a restaurant and bar and a room with pool tables. We are right downtown so we can walk to anything we might need. All of this for the princely sum of $30. a day. They wanted $150 a day, but down here, everything is negotiable.
We have internet in the lounge so I will be accepting Google calls in the mornings and evenings.
