People

We've met some fascinating people here. A lot of vacationing Canadians but we've also met some really cool people on permanent vacations.

There was a couple originally from Texas who've spent the last 23 years traveling. They're not wealthy, they have a smallish annuity but they know the secrets of traveling on the cheap. A few months ago he got sick and had to be flown from Malta to Texas for surgery. She followed with their car, on a cargo ship. The only woman on board. She said she learned some great curses in Russian and how to read the instruments. They're headed up to Lake Chapala to visit friends and then off to Ireland to spend a few months in a castle.

Last week we met with a realtor in Puerto Escondido with a cliff top, ocean view, home out of Architectural Digest. She had a wall of silver framed, black & white photos of her posed with Liz Taylor, Liza, and Harry Belafonte...She's a business woman of 60+, barefoot, perfectly coiffed and manicured, smoking small neat European cigarettes. She was lovely. I think she got our number. She showed us the most perfect beach property and tempted us with her builder who would take care of everything. Neptuno Beach, I'm hooked.
