Puebla, dos
Well-heeled, sophisticated, and cultured, Puebla is the most Spanish city we've been to. With over 20 universities and 70 churches it's highly educated and very religious. Colonial architecture and Talavera tile covered church domes surrounded us as we sat in the square and watched people walk by.
Cathedral Puebla in the center of town is the most elegant cathedral I've ever seen. Towering triple columns that end in cream and gold domes with massive gilt chandeliers in their centers. Throughout the church the gold has mellowed to a subtle deep shimmer giving a soft focus glow to the church. Massive luminous Renaissance paintings of Saint Christopher, Joseph, and Mary light dark corners and free standing intricately carved wooden confessionals line the Cathedral.

We could spend weeks here looking at museums, but we're moving to Cuernavaca tomorrow.
