This town is lovely; low key, great beaches and restaurants, and very affordable. Fonatur is a government entity that regulates everything turista. They decide which areas to develop, build the infrastructure, and keep the streets clean and manicured. Huatulco is their latest adventure and there are signs of growth everywhere. The good news is they’ve learned a lot from the craziness that is Cabo and the traffic blight of Acapulco. They’ve left a lot of open space, very few hotels are right on the beach, and no building is over 6 stories. The area is still peaceful and feels like you’re in a small town in Mexico, not Las Vegas with a beach.
